Isla LOVES CAKE!

Isla turned 1 on the 25th and celebrated with her grandma and grandpa from PA and Cha Cha. The cupcake cake was plopped down in front of her and she watched the candle burn attentively as we sang. Carter did the honors of blowing out her candle and she gently dug into her cake. A few handfulls of icing and she was all done. This was just the calm before the storm.

Susan baked and iced Isla's cupcake cake as well as made all of the cupcakes for the partygoers.

On Saturday we had her official party and she was prepared for the cake this time. Susan's entir family flew out from PA to celebrate with Isla. As we all sang she looked around as if to say, "That's right... it's MY birthday." Carter, once again, did the honors of blowing out the candle and the cake debauchery ensued.

She sat in her chair and ate cake for 15 minutes straight... when I say straight I mean she had handful after handul after handful. At one point her left hand was completely covered with cake. At the end Susan had to physically wrench her out of her seat to keep her from eating so much cake that she would have slid into a sugar coma.

Boppa and Cha Cha's 40th Wedding Anniversary

For Boppa and Cha Cha's 40th Wedding Anniversary we took the whole family to teppanyaki at Yoshino's where everyone was dazzled, amazed, and (for some) a bit frightened by the experience.

Carter loved every minute of it... except for when the volcano "erupted" and he covered his ears and looked away. Isla really did love every minute of it. She only complained when her supply of puffs or yogurt bites ran out.
